The Story:

Based on the show business aspirations and successes of R&B acts such as The Supremes, The Shirelles, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, and others, this spectacular musical follows the story of a young female singing trio from Chicago, Illinois called “The Dreams”, who become music superstars – three talented young singers in the turbulent 1960s, a revolutionary time in American music history. Full of onstage joy and backstage drama, DREAMGIRLS tells the rags-to-riches story of a Motown girl group and the trials and tribulations that come with fame and fortune.
