    Late Entry

    As a courtesy to our actors/actresses and patrons: The front doors of the theatre facility are locked at 7:40pm. Should it be necessary to leave the theatre during the performance, or if you arrive at the theatre after the performance has begun, please use the buzzer located to the right of the entrance doors.

  • Cameras and Recorders

    Actors’ Equity Association strictly prohibits the use of cameras or recording devices in the theatre.

  • Hearing Devices

    Hearing devices can be used free of charge for the duration of the show. A driver’s license or credit card will be required as collateral for using the hearing device and will be stored in a sealed envelope in a secure lock box at the box office. Upon returning the hearing device, the driver’s license or credit card will be returned.

  • Children under the age of 7

    As a courtesy to our actors/actresses and patrons: Children under the age of 7 (including infants) are not permitted in the theatre.

  • Outside Food & Drinks

    New Theatre Restaurant is pleased to offer its guests a complete dining and alcoholic beverage menu. Guests are allowed to bring their own bottled wine for a corkage fee. No other outside food or drink is permitted into the theatre facility. Anyone found in possession of food or alcohol not provided by New Theatre Restaurant will be asked to leave the theatre.

  • Smoking

    As of Jan. 2, 2008, indoor smoking is no longer permitted in the City of Overland Park. For the convenience of our guests who choose to smoke, New Theatre provides a heated outdoor patio outside our main entrance.

  • Talking

    As a courtesy to our other guests and to the actors on stage, please refrain from talking during the performance. Guests creating disturbances deemed excessive will be asked to leave the theatre.

  • Remain in your seats

    For your safety, we ask that during the performance all our guests remain in their seats until the house lights are fully up at the end of each act. In addition to the safety concerns, the actors in our performances work very hard for your enjoyment. Exiting during the curtain call is extremely discourteous to the performers.

  • Behavior

    At New Theatre & Restaurant we are very aware that your entertainment choices are many. We expect all of our employees to treat our guests in a polite and respectful manner. We ask that our guests treat our employees in the same manner.

  • Turn off electronic devices

    Please turn off cell phones, pagers, beeping watches and all other electronic devices that could possibly interfere with the performance.

  • Attire

    New Theatre Restaurant encourages a minimum standard of business casual dress.

Special Accommodations

  • Hearing Devices

    New Theatre Restaurant offers sound enhancement systems for the hearing impaired. Ask about it at our box office. Collateral is required while using the device. Read about our Hearing Device Policy in the Theatre Policies section. A limited number are available for each performance, contact the box office to reserve a hearing device prior to your show date.

  • Wheelchair Access

    Wheelchair ramp into the theatre is located on the left side of the main theatre entrance. All public areas are wheel chair accessible. Eighth row seating for wheelchairs is strongly recommended. Check with the box office for availability.

  • Interpretive Performances

    New Theatre Restaurant offers special performances available for the hearing impaired. Check with the box office for a schedule of these performances.

  • Dietary Needs

    Patrons with specific medical dietary needs such as gluten-free foods or diabetic-friendly foods can be accommodated by sending in a Special Dietary Needs Request to our kitchen 48 hours in advance of your show.
